Dehumidifier Automatic Pump for Any Unit

I've been through three different brands of dehumidifiers with built-in pumps including two HomeLabs units (one was warranty replacement) and they all failed within their first year of operation (pumps failed, dehumidifier option worked great).

I'm convinced for some reason, nobody can make one of these work for the long term. So, in the spirit of not losing this way again, I did an AI search and found the pump below that can be placed in ANY dehumidifier's collection retainer.

I got this installed, just had to drill an access hole for the hose and cord on the front top of the retention container and so far it's working great. Hopefully, it lasts for more than a year.

I know this isn't really 'automation' but I didn't know one of these units existed and thought someone else might be in this situation where they need a dehumidifier emptied automatically via a pump.

Great idea!!!

Yes here just looked when I purchased my HomeLabs dehumidifier from Amazon and it was in 2019. Just installed an outlet near the furnace / water heater for a second dehumidifier. Basement is really humid here 24/7.

I use two sensors in the basement on opposite sides of the basement. One is close to 2 sump pump wells which are on 24/7.

I use HVAC condensate pumps for my dehumidifier, humidifier, and AC condensate. Little Giant, Sauermann, and Beckett are well-known and reliable brands. I simply run a vinyl drain tube from the source and another vinyl discharge tube (with an inline check valve) to sanitary or outdoors. They just run. I do have to clean them every few years, but adding bio tabs once or twice a year can minimize cleaning.
