Door sensor mounting

I have a wireless micro door sensor. The door jamb/trim is a little strange, so the mounting is giving me some problems, presumably with the gap being too large. Occasionally the sensor will not report closed.

Is it OK to reverse the positions and put the transmitter on the door and the magenet on the jamb? Or should I remove the magnet and add more shims to get it in line with the sensor?

Hi,
Yes it is O.K. to change the Trans & Mag location. It is common. Also you might check on a slimline rare earth Magnet that would fit inside the door jam putting it closer to the switch in the transmitter!
