DS2436 Battery Monitor

One of the 1-wire devices is the DS2436 "Battery Monitor". It's intended for use in cellphones, etc, but what if the cells are a little larger? For example...a battery bay with 3, 1200CCA batteries powered by shore power?



As I understand it, it's merely sensing the voltage/current/whatever, not in the way of it; has anyone tried something so strange?

The DS2436 is alot like the DS2438 and you can use it to measure any type of voltage as long as it does not exceed the input voltage of the A/D
