Hi. I'm looking for help on how to install a wireless window sensor on my DSC alarm system. I keep getting a zone tamper warning on my keypad. Here is my equipment:
- PC1864 panel (all wired)
- Five PC5108 expansion modules (all wired)
- RF5132 wireless receiver module
- Ecolink WST-200 wireless contact
The wireless receiver manual says you cannot mix wired and wireless zones on the PC5018 so I've decided to convert zone 3 on the PC1864 from wired to wireless.
Here are the steps I took:
Disconnected the yellow and green common wire from zone 3 of the PC1864
Turned on the zone 3 wireless attribute (option 8)
Enrolled the wireless window sensor to zone 3 using the device ESN
After doing this, zone 3 shows that it has been tampered. I tried this with zones from the PC5018 and got the same result. The sensor cover is fully closed. I tested the wireless sensor by going to section 904 and entering zone 03. When I separated the sensor from the magnet, the alarm started to chirp so I think the wireless and zone programming is correct. Does anybody know what is going on?
