Elk GE Wireless receivers

I just came across an old Elk GE wireless receiver. The M1XRF uses the same case as the M1XRFEG but has many more components.
The manuals don't specify why one model was replaced or specify any newer features.
It looks like first came the M1XRF then the M1XRFEG then the M1XRF319.
The M1XRF319 has a different form factor.
I would be curious if anyone has any history on the different models or what features were added.
Does anyone know of a source for the antennas?

The M1XRF (later called the M1XRF2G) was the original GE-compatible wireless receiver from Elk. It supported the second generation of GE transmitters, called Crsytal wireless. It did not officially support the older GE transmitters which used SAW technology. The SAW transmitters had a wider frequency spread around 319MHz, while the Crystal technology used a narrower spread. That meant an older SAW transmitter might or might not work with the newer Crystal technology. Some Elk users were unhappy that they could not re-use old transmitters with an Elk panel.

To remedy this, Elk came out with the M1XRFEG, which supports both types. It has fewer components because it uses newer, more highly integrated technology.

The latest levels of the M1 firmware no longer support he M1XRF2G.
