ELK Won't Change Counters

Any ELK Gurus out there who can shed light on this one?

I have an ELK Rule that is supposed to set a counter to 0 every ten minutes. I use this as a heartbeat thing with Homeseer. This used to work before, now it doesn't. I have no idea what changed, but the rule will not execute, ever. Even if I am in RP2 and try to test the rule, it will not work. The Counter is defined. I resent my counters and rules to the panel multiple times. I am at a loss on what to do.

After posting to the ELK forum, I was advised to reset the main control to a default state, and then resend all parameters and rules. That did the trick. Counters are working again. I'm not sure the technical reason that the panel lost its mind about counters, but for future reference, defaulting the panel seems to be the solution.

It sounds like somehow the firmware in the EEPROM got corrupted. That's unusual, but could happen if the power supply voltage drops too low, causing the CPU to execute instructions incorrectly, or to write data to an incorrect address. Too low a voltage itself would be unusual because of the backup battery, unless the battery was at end of life.

Thanks for sharing this. It's always good to know one more thing to try when all else fails.

Thanks, @RAL. I was guessing some kind of power issue was at the root of it, perhaps the same power failure and/or low voltage surge I experienced a few weeks ago that apparently knocked out my RCS thermostats and my HS server.
