Gypsum Sensor Question

Hi Eric

I was wondering what would the dc resistance of the Gypsum Sensors would be when they are quite moist.....

I am doing some testing using a chip which detects water (4 sensors) and it appears that it triggers when the resistance is around 15k .......

Thanks

Frank,

You can't read the DC resistance of the Gypsum Soil Sensor or you can ruin it. If you apply a DC current to the sensor it will cause electrolysis (or plating of the electrodes) which will end up giving the sensor a permanent offset.

I did a test with a sensor once and watched the DC resistance constantly change as the electrolysis happened. It only takes less than a second to cause damage.

Hi Eric

I guess then i,ll just have to order some of your gypsum sensors and try them out....

Thanks
