hi

damage

Senior Member
i've been here almost a year & figured it was time to share my system :p i've got a mishmash of pretty much everything cobbled together. my controller is a jds timecommander+ w/ an ir expander. i run starCOM (http://www.getstarcom) as my main automation software along w/ haldeluxe, various xPL and xap apps, and tons of homemade scripts.

my website http://www.kjsdoghouse.com/autohouse details my setup and is for the most part up to date.

Very interesting site, I love details! StarCOM is one of the few applications I am not familiar with, I will have to do some more research.

Nice setup damage!

and I thought I was the only one to use Blat :p
thanks!

blat is a great little utility! i've been using it mainly to send text messages to my cellphone when i'm away from home.

starCOM is replacement software for the JDS family of controllers only so it doesn't have the widespread appeal of many of the other multi-controller packages, like homeseer. it's not a plug & play solution, requiring some scripting skills up front to get good use out of it. but it's very flexible, powerful and extremely stable.

Ahhh, never thought of that! I just use Blat to send me emails when the alarm is triggered. Being that I never use text messaging on my phone, I have my system "ring" my cellphone, using Stanaphone.

For those, not in the know... or too lazy to go a-searchin' :p
Blat
Stanaphone & GML

I love links...

I also use Blat in my phone system. This was a suggestion by huggy59 when I asked a question about emailing from VB on Cocoontech just last summer. It works very well, as well as a command line application can, with multiple options to provide authentication, attachements, etc.

I use it to email me an attached mp3 file of a new message received in my voice mailbox.
