TechReport.com published a review of the new Hitachi Deskstar 7k500 500GB SATA drive. In case you were living under a rock for the last several years, Hitachi bought IBM's desktop hard drive product line, so hopefully it won't run into the same issues IBM has run into. This drive is a 7200RPM drive, has 16MB cache and supports native command queueing (NCQ). They also compare the drive with several other drives, so it's definitely worth a read. I wish I could get my hands on of these for a review, since I have a DVD library which takes up a lot of space
