How do I update my OmniTouch Pro keypads??? And another question(s!)….

Hi. Sorry if already discussed, I swear to it…. I tried and couldn’t find what I was looking for. If you can help, I would give you a big e-hug!!

I’m going crazy…. My Omni Pro II has been up and running for years (not well mind you, many things I have been putting off because I don’t know how to do them!!). So, I have not connected to it in a few years now.

I am trying to fix a problem with a wireless sensor and a patio door.

I am using Dealer PC Access 3.10.1.655. (BTW: How do I get the latest version, or updater for this now?)

I am able to write to the file, save the file (The time update bug is very annoying though!), and upload the file to the controller.
I am then downloading the file back to my Windows 10 PC, so that I can confirm my changes to the controller are there. They are.

The problem is my OmniTouch Pro pads around the house. I unplug them and plug them back in, and they will not update. They still show the old zones, and zone names. I have fixed the issue in my PC Access file, and confirmed the controller has it, but the touchpads will not update. How do I update the touchpads to show the new zones and the new zone names???? Seems pretty easy and straight forward, but I can not find a way to “refresh” the dumb things….

ANY help, advice would be absolutely appreciated! Also, any info on how to get or what to do with the software now.. that would be great! I was just reading a post on here about OmniTouch Pro software, and I thought I already owned a copy of it, but I guess I never did…. I downloaded an installer, but alas, no serial number. I also have installed Automation Studio 1.0.3.25, which I do have a license for, is there any updates I should have??

Thank you!

frank

Oh…. Also, Why do I not have the option to reset my RAM or my EEPROM anymore? Where, or why, would that not be accessible to me now?? Maybe I’m going to the wrong place?? I push 9 for setup on keypad, enter my installer number, then it’s 6, right? For miscellaneous? I do feel like there used to be another 9 that you hit, then 6 again.. Does any of this make sense???? :)

Welcome to the Cocoontech forum @franklyhollywood

Current version of PCA is 3.17.3.861.

It is located right here ==>

Are the OmniTouch Pro pads touchscreens or keypad consoles? If touchscreens are they serial or IP touchscreens?

If IP touchscreens a touchscreen reset should fix your issues.

OmniTouch Pro software will run on Windows XP to Windows 11 if you have licensed versions of it.

Automation Studio will work fine with the Omnitouch IP touchscreens and Omnitouch Pro software.

Baby steps

...warm and cold reset works fine...

I saw that link, but I thought it was to that 3.6 version... oh my, thank you! This time bug is bugging me.

I am sorry, I thought because they were OmniTouch Pro, they were automatically the IP touchscreens... Sorry about that! The ones I am referring to are the IP POE touchscreens that I think leviton ended up putting out.

I also have a 5.7 touch screen attached in one room as well... but I could replace that possibly with a POE IP touchscreen as well.

How do you reset the POE IP touchscreens??? I have unplugged them (let them sit for about 10 minutes), then plugged them back in. But it did not fix the issue. The file in the controller, and the file on my PC (Windows 10 btw, but I need to upgrade and am about to go to W11 here in a few hours), is not the same file reflected on the touchscreens. The touchscreens still has multiple RecRoomPatioDoor zones, where as I got rid of that duplication from the actual file. It was duplicated because I had hard wired sensors on there, then a contractor came in and cut the wires, so I then had to put wireless on the doors (they are also french doors). Did I do a proper reset on the touchpads, by just unplugging them and waiting to plug them back in??? Shouldnt that refresh the controller file that shows up on the touchpads??

I also do NOT seem to have the option to reset the ram, or the eeprom on my keypad console. I am wondering if this newer version of pc access will solve some of these weird issues.

Thank you by the way for your help!

I already see the option to "refresh touchscreens" in the pc acess software (I thought I remembered that being there! But for some reason, it was not an option available on the version prior to the one I just downloaded! I wonder if I got a weird, funky version somehow???)

Also:

1)Why can I now not write my email board config to the controller, since the update?
2)My touchpads finally updated! Yay!! (I did use the restart touchscreens command in the PC access software! which was somehow missing from my version! So does that mean that these are OmniTouch 7's??)
3) I STILL can not find the option to reset ram or eeprom... I am using an old school keypad, selecting 9 for setup, then entering my code, and then the only real option i have is 1-8, but I always choose 6 where it shows me the IP address, firmware version, encryption key, etc...
4) I somehow missed the boat on the OmniTouch Pro software, I guess I wasn't paying attention to Leviton or Omni when they were offering that for sale. I did not get it. Do I need it?

Thank you!

Omnitouch Pro is Windows software. Even if you did purchase it or find it; it will not authenticate these days because the authentication servers are no longer up.

The 3.6 / 5.7 early touchscreens were serially connected (4 wires).

The 5.7e is an IP POE touchscreen. (reset button under cover).

You have to comb through your configuration via PCA to repair your issues.

Warm / cold reset is an option that has always been there.

Why can I now not write my email board config to the controller, since the update?
Try again. It should be there if configured.

My touchpads finally updated! Yay!! (I did use the restart touchscreens command in the PC access software! which was somehow missing from my version! So does that mean that these are OmniTouch 7's??)
Omnitouch 7's are Android based and wide screen touchscreens.

I did not get it. Do I need it?

no.
