We've signed a contract on a new house- won't be moving in till the end of next month- and as we've done our inspection, we won't get back in until right before we move in. The house was built in 1995, and it has an intercom system, with an intercom panel in just about every room. What kind of wiring do intercom systems of that age usually use? I'm just wondering if I will be able to make use of it for any HA purposes.

Did you notice the brand? Nutone maybe? Might be like a 7 conductor wire that is daisy chained to each station.
