Lowering camera resolution on Samsung A32 5G

The resolution of the main rear camera defaults to 12 M pixels. It can be set to 48 M pixels. That seems to be the only choices which is awful IMHO. I don't need such high resolution and they take up lots of space. And take a long time to send to someone. At work I typically reduce pictures to about 1 M pixel and they still look fine for most use. Is there some app or some way to have default pictures of about that size without having to do additional steps? Maybe a different camera app that I could set as the default or an app that automatically resizes pics as soon as they are taken? I wish device makers would realize not everyone wants a zillion pixel pics.

On my pixel, I can change the default 'Camera photo resolution' in my Android settings. I know Samsung has its own UI, but I'd start there.

I looked around in settings and googled a bunch too. Apparently they think everyone wants max resolution or nearly max. Wondering if a different camera app exists that might shrink the resolution automatically. At this point that seems like the most likely solution. Guess I should ask on a Samsung forum...

Opencamera is an app that has pretty good reviews and has lots of resolution choices so I am trying that. So far it looks good.
