Memory leak in Powerlinc Plugin... caught it

Well after being plagued with unexplained lockups but suspecting the Powerlinc plugin for weeks now I finally caught it right as it started to eat memory. I snapped a screen capture shown below. I would say it has a problem.

Perhaps you have a bad unit? I use the powerlink and have seen no lockups.

HS the program reboots my machine every so often when it feels like, but that is a feature, and not a bug..... ;) (He sez anxiously, waiting for 2.0)

A bad unit maybe true - but definately bad software driver. It should never use near that much memory. Most likely it's both - a bad unit is causing error recovery code to run that has a bug in it.

Great support from HST. I put in a high priority ticket on this and 4+ days later I still get no reply. Oh well....

John

High Priority means High Priority for YOU, not HSTinker. ;)

All kidding aside, I have taken to emailing Rich directly. It has been the only way that I get answers. Rich has always been very straightforward, and helpful.

John,
I'm sure you and about a thousand others have high priority tickets in the queue. With only one guy answering them and one and a half guys coding HS 2.0 I doubt HST considers this high priority. Your the only guy to post this problem so I'm guessing they aren't seeing this as high priority. I have had a high priority ticket in since last April and have yet to get it fixed so your not alone. I have 2 address entries in my HSP book the 2 default ones. If I attempt to add another HSP goes to 100% CPU and hangs the system. I have given up on adding new address book entries.

Then obviously its not ready for prime time yet. The software as a whole seems to have way too many bugs in it. And we want to goto 2.0 that will have 100 times the bugs no doubt.

John

Well ya better buy em by the case.... I am not the only one that has problems with the overall stability of HS. Not fun to have your PC brought down to a crawl and crash due to just turning on a light.

I guess I will go back to my CM11a until I hear an answer.

Rupp:
Have you found the address book and deleted it? I've not checked it out but that maybe would reset HSP.

Bruce,
I have tried everything under the sun to no avail. Rich did work with me for a couple of days but gave up because nothing would work. I believe the only way to fix it would be to rebuilt my HS server but it's been 100% rock stable for months so I'll just live without phone book entries until something dies.
