Motion Detection and Day/Night Cameras

I was wondering, because I've never had day/night cameras with IR illuminators, whether the switch to night mode (IR LEDs ON) will falsely trigger motion detection software.

Does anyone have this setup and can tell me if this happens?

In my case, the switch to IR seems to happen gradually, so it doesn't trigger my camera software. In daytime, it's a color camera, at night, it's a b/w with IR cam.
