New System Needed

Hello

I was a past Omni Pro Dealer and subsequently have a full system programmed in my home. It is time to upgrade for various reasons. My problem is that I sold my company and retired 10 plus years ago and have not kept up with the technology available.

The first part of my transition stage will be the most important to me, the lighting system. I was also a Lutron dealer when I was in business and the RadioRa system always worked well for us.

The most important feature of my home lighting system is the automatic timing of my home and the intensity of the light in my home. Ex: Hall lights come on everyday 1/2 hour before sunset and the intensity of the lighting ramps up from 20 to 100% over time. Or, I have several lights that come on, like my bathroom, at 2pm comes on at 20% every night for 1 hour. This will make sense to you once you are 60.

While I am at it I thought it might be nice to do away with many of the multiple wall gang plates of lighting switches I have currently and do away with them or at least consolidate them.

Is there a decent lighting system, does not have to integrate with other systems, that can be self installed without software only available to dealers that can control lighting, and maybe shading, based on time and/or events? Thanks in advance for the recommendations and help.

Why not stick with Lutron? RadioRA3 is the latest/greatest, but RadioRA2 still works great. Lutron has opened up their software these days, all you have to do is breeze through a training course and you'll get access to it. Then, sign up for an account at Hanks Electric (link), contact them to ask that they "enable lutron" products for sale and you'll pretty much get the best pricing available.
