NX8E - Unable to enter into programming mode through keypad

At the commercial facility I’ve been working with for the past several years, they have an NX8E system used for security and access control with the card readers using the small key Fob’s. The issue I’m having now is adding additional Fob’s into the system. In the past 4-5 years, I’ve always used the following procedure which has worked fine.

• From keypad in server room, *5 then XXXX (system programming code). Ready light will flash if correct.
• Enter 002
• Press Cancel then enter the first available key FOB sequence you will be adding
• Present key FOB(s) to reader. It will beep. Wait approx. 5 seconds before adding subsequent FOB's.
• Exit to leave programming mode.

The problem I’m having now is I cannot get past entering the programming code. The Ready light does not flash, and the keypad continues to show “Pleas Enter Your Code”. Re-tried entering it several times, but after approximately 30 seconds, it returns to the normal display which show the company name. I know the program code has not changed, but I went ahead and tried the default “1234” as well as an old programming code that was in the documentation the previous owner left.

This unit has a 595E module in it, and I regularly use DLX900 to look at the status, download event logs, etc. When I connect to the system and pull up the Main Control panel. All the current badges are shown in the Codes tab in the first 120 or so slots. The very last entry in here show Program as the number and our 4 digit code which is what it has been for many years.

So my question is, why won’t this code work from the keypad to give me access? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you possibly exceed the maximum number users of key FOB entries?

I think I gave too much detail on my original post. Basically, I cannot get into any administrative functions through the keypad. It does not accept my 4 digit admin code. But as I stated, through DLX900 in the main control panel, the last entry is listed as Program and that code is the same one we have had for the last 7 years.
