Olive Network Music Players

I saw this player in CE Pro and thought is was interesting but a little pricey for me. Anyone had any experience with these players? The Opus makes the new Slim Devices - Transporter look more affordable, but that's not really apples to apples.

No it is not a fair comparison. The Transporter is a true high-end audiophile component with esoteric parts. The Olive is like an updated AudioTron with some local storage. To control it you are expected to stick laptops or PCs in all your rooms... ultimately very expensive for a very clumsy solution.

Go with Sonos or Slimserver. If the Transporter is too expensive just get a Squeezebox3 player. $250 for the wired version and still probably sounds better than the Olive.
