Omni LT - Connect Remotely

What specific device is needed to get an Omni LT online for remote access? I'm assuming this board doesn't already have this capability. Thanks!

Also, I just learned the internet router is in the same closet as the Omni, so I got that goin' for me, which is nice. And, I got a photo too.

You have a few issues to work thru.
The OmniLT does not have a network port. It only has one built in serial port which you are already using for the UPB controller.
The HAI remote access App only works with the OmniLTe or Omni2e or OmniPro II.

Interesting. By 'UPB Controller', are you referring to the thing that controls the small touchscreen thingy on the wall?

This is my sister’s beach house. It’s a townhouse among about 6 total. The builder put these systems in each house with an HAI 33A00-1 keypad in the upstairs bedroom (which I find odd), some sort of Omni touchscreen in the kitchen, two HAI 35A00 dimmers (also random), two OmniStats and the thingy that turns the water main off. My guess is the water main shutoff is the single reason he felt the need to install these LTs., since these are all not constantly occupied.

Since I coincidentally have an Omni (LTe) in my house, I thought I’d help them get this thing online so they can control HVAC remotely. It sounds like you’re saying that’s simply not an option?

Thank you for replying!

No, the UPB PIM is the device plugged into the outlet strip directly to the left of OmniLT. It connects the OmniLT to the HAI dimmers.
It looks like the system is still connected to the phone line. If you turn phone service back on, you can use the built-in phone interface to remotely control the system.

We put keypads in master bedrooms for some clients that wanted to arm the system while they were home alone "STAY" mode.

Oh, right, the UPB control.....got it.

So, if phone line is activated, the control would be through the keypad using touchtones through some kind of menu?

That’s just it, this thing has no alarm components installed. Just the afore-mentioned ones. That’s why I thought it odd to have the keypad in the bedroom. Its pointless.

Please read the section (page 43) on telephone control in the attached user manual.
Basically, the system will read the keypad to you over the phone. So, it's the same as pressing the keypad buttons.

Another possibility for the keypad in the bedroom....
Since the OmniLT is controlling the lights, the keypad would let you turn off all the lights as you went to bed or turn on lights if you get up at night.

I get the reason for keypads in bedrooms. Just not this particular system with two dimmers and no alarm whatsoever. I'll look over this info. Thank you for sharing!

It will be better and far cheaper just to get a wifi thermostat. If you want to control some lights, and use an iPhone, get a Homepod and then you can control everything through Homekit. Google and Amazon have the equivalent as well, but they also have ulterior motives to offer you these "free services."
