omnistat replacement

My snaplink does not change the settings on the omnistat. It looks like it does on the app, but it does not. Anything I can do? I am happy to get a new different thermostat, such as google nest. But so many wires as opposed to google nest (use only 4), so not sure which to use.

Are you sure the HOLD function on the Omnistat is turned off?

I am pretty sure it was. I did play with this function today for first time, to see if it works. I mainly need the remote function to turn heat on before coming back from vacation, so trying vacation mode now for one day.. I dont know if it has to do with the modem as I need to enable DMZ. My router does not see the system

Can you change the temperature from the System console?
Can you ping the HAI?
Are the two leds by the network connector flashing?
