Legrand to Acquire On-Q Technologies, Inc. - Becomes Leading Supplier of Solutions for the Networked Home

West Hartford, Connecticut, February 24, 2005 – Legrand announced today that it will acquire On-Q Technologies, Inc., known as On-Q Home, Harrisburg, PA. On-Q Home and Legrand’s Greyfox business unit will be brought together to form On-Q/Legrand, the leading provider of solutions for the connected home market. On-Q/Legrand becomes the fifth business group of Legrand in North America.

For those of you not familiar with the structured wiring biz, this is a merger of two 800 lb gorillas (okay, maybe a 800lb gorilla and one of the larger "other guys"). OnQ has something like 60%-70% of the structured wiring market, and GreyFox is one of the larger operators in the remaining group.
