piezo output delay

How can i set off a piezo type siren on a delay with a burgular alarm trigger? I don't want to make my entire family deaf when my wife accidentally triggers a false alarm - with a delay, maybe I can disarm it in time..

I'd still like the outdoor siren and strobe light to go off as usual.

How about a rule that starts a counter and when the counter runs out it fires a relay to sound the piezo?
