Problem with rain gauge

Hi,
I just switched the counter board in my rain gauge, as the battery had come to an end. But now the counter seems to register ticks continuously, even though there is no rain.
Below is part of a log from owwnogui (the third column is the rain readings in mm):

owwnogui also reports a problem which I don't know if it related to my issue:

1-wire Error: Search ROM Error: Couldn't locate next device on 1-Wire

Anyone who knows what my problem might be?

How did you hook it up to the Rain Gauge. It shouldn't be counting continuously.

Eric,

I looked inside the rain gauge and it looks like it has been flooded. When I looked underneath the gauge I saw some small creatures who were living there and who had layed some eggs (I believe so at least) which I think were blocking the water from leaving the gauge . After cleaning it up I think that it now is working like it should.

That can definitely cause it to count continuously. Glad to hear that it seems to be working fine now.
