rackmount monitor drawer w/o monitor?

I want to put an LCD in my rack that can collapse flat, but the rackmount monitor drawers that come with monitors are all horrifically expensive. The cheapest I found was $800 for a 17". I can get a 17" monitor for $200, my shelf only cost me $50.

Does anyone sell a rackmount monitor drawer and let me put a cheap 15" LCD off eBay in it? I'd need basically a plate with spring in it so it would pop up when I pulled it out.

IVB there are some cheapo ones I have seen but I would be concerned about the longevity of the mechanism that tilts the monitor up when pulling it out, generally high end ones can cost over $1000 but check out the APC models like this one for just over $300

Ripper, the one that allows you to add your own display looks like a good one and is cheaper than any I had found.
