Replacing a 33A00-1 keypad console

More diagnosis - remove devices from the console bus one at a time.

Well, still getting phantom button presses on the same keypad console. So far, disconnecting it has been the only way to stop the issue.

I tried a new one, but still have the issue.

I respliced the connectionsat the console, but still issues.

Is it safe to say that something between this console at the connections at the panel are the culprit? Or is it still possible that another console is causing issues in the one with the phantom button presses?

It’s worth noting that before I disconnected the wireless receiver (which was also connected to a different console wiring), the buttons presses were every 20-30 minutes. Now it’s once or twice in 24 hours.

It's not safe to assume what the culprit is. Have you changed the address on the console?

Yes, so far here is what I have done:
  1. Disconnected the affected keypad. Issue stops.
  2. Replaced affected keypad with new one. Issue returns (many random events in 24 hours).
  3. Changed the console address of the keypad. Issue returns (many random events in 24 hours).
  4. Re-spliced the connections at the keypad. Issues returns (many random events in 24 hours)
  5. Disconnected 45A00 wireless receiver. Issue subsides (1-2 random events in 24 hours)
I just changed the console address of the keypad again. Will report back. But if there is anything else to try, please let me know.

As a refresher, these are the consoles I have installed:
  1. one touch screen connected to an expansion panel
  2. one touch screen connected to the main panel (the wireless receiver was spliced into this connection)
  3. one original HAI brand keypad from 2007
  4. one new Leviton brand keypad dated 2014 (this is the affected one)
Consoles 2-4 are spliced together before the main panel connection.

@dwalt - this didn't help. Got another set of phantom beeps on the Leviton console #4

Any other advice? I'm really struggling with this one. Lived here for nearly 13 years and never experienced anything this frustrating with the system. And to make matters worse, the guy/company I have been contracting when needed has been MIA recently so I'm on my own with this one

Did you say this is on a shared cable with a touchscreen? If so, disconnect the touchscreen.
Ok, I just unplugged the touchscreen, which happens to be our primary unit

Yes, the 2 keypads and the touchscreen are all spliced together before connecting to the panel. Is that normal? I thought there is only one connection for the consoles on the panel so they need to be spliced together when more than one. Or is the touchscreen supposed to be connected differently?

Here is the layout:

When I wire Keypads, I home run all wires to the Omni. That eliminates the splices.

Here is the panel. You can see the 3 consoles/screen (in front of the battery), and then run to one spot on the panel. If I were to re-wire them, where would each one connect to the panel? I see only one spot for "Console" on the board.

Unfortunately the installer didn't leave a service loop on these wires and they won't reach the board directly, so I would need to splice each one anyhow to lengthen the wires, but at least I could eliminate the consoles from being spliced together.

I just had 2 phantom beeps (only heard them, didn't see anything on the keypad display), this was while the touchscreen was disconnected.

What would you recommend now? Can i reinstall the touchscreen since it didnt solve the issue?

Note, so far, the only time I had zero phantom beeps is when the leviton console was disconnected...
