Reset GE Glass Break

I have a NX487 GE Glass break sensor monitored by a M1 Gold. I opened the cover and it tripped the tamper. How can i reset it so I can arm the system?

It may on the sensor but it doesn't on the M1. It just lists it as violated. I'm thinking maybe I have the zone set up wrong. what kind of supervision, etc should it be?

I don't have an Elk, but whatever a normal zone is named that the glass break itself is.

Have you entered your user code a second time to clear the alert? How is the zone configured? Are you using separate zones for the tamper and the motion?

It says the status (in the elkrp software) is "violated, force armed". It's set as burglar interior, type=EOL Supervised/RF and the supervision is set to "normal supervision"

There are two of them and they are both doing the same thing.

If I remove them from a zone and place them in another zone, they work find until I open the cover and violate the zone. The zone never returns from that state. If I place them back in the original zone, it remembers the "violated" status.

Months back I saw the same exact situation on a tamper for a motion detector. I never got around to investigating it. At the time I was starting to think of a firmware issue but I think that it would have been widely noticed by now if that was the case.

I've deleted them from the zone but the zone still shows violated as the status. I'll add a motion in and see what the tamper does on it.

The motion works fine. It returns to normal after it's violated. The Glass Breaks just don't seem to work...

If both were confirgured the same and the motion is good then I would guess it is something to do with the glassbreak.

If you open the cover and trip the tamper the GB sends a tamper/trouble. It will stay that way until a restoral is sent. It sounds like the restoral is not being sent (or recognized). Try holding the tamper switch closed with your finger and see if the zone clears. If it does there is probably a mechanical issue.

I've watched the receiver and when I open the door, it receives a signal and when I close the door, it receives a signal. It seems the M1 is not interpreting the restore signal from the GBs.

Okay, I had to set "Option 2" in the wireless setup in the ELKRP software. I don't know what Option 2 is but now it gets the tamper reset from the units.
