Russound system setup consulting

I have an old Russound system CAV6.6 with 2 units connected and 12 zones done in 2012, and bought another 6.6 as I suspect some of the channels have blown, since they are not outputting sound. There are several rooms (both L and R channels) that are doing this. I thought by buying another used unit on Ebay, I could just transfer the faulty rooms to a newer unit. I tried to follow the directions on the manual, but its hard to figure it out how to add it and make it work. Would love if someone can do a video consult to guide me. Will pay or donate to a charity of your choice for the time. Thanks!

Hi superduperdoc,
I installed a lot of Russound equipment in the day.... but it's been a while.
To start with you need a short 18" data cable (cat5 or 6)
and the Russound Dealer software (PC Power Tool). You might be able to do it with a keypad but I never tried it that way and its not recommended.
You'll need a pc with a serial port or a USB adapter. The Russound serial cable is straight thru.
I'll attach the spec sheet.

Thank you, would you know if PC power tool is available for download as an end user? Would it even work with windows 10/11?

per this thread from 2020:

"Adding Audio Source to Russound CAV6.7"

you could still go to the russound wb site and sign up to get access to their file area. I assume it will work on 10. It only uses serial for i/o.
