TOADs and DUDES

This is the definition of a TOAD:

TOAD: Toggle Only Actuated Device. A term coined to represent a device that does not feature discrete codes.

Does anybody remember what the acronym DUDE stands for. I know it's a device that has discrete codes but the acronym excapes me!
