Tonight's Chat Feature - Test Drive a SlingBox

I recently purchased a SlingBox Pro and have it connected to my Media Center PC (running MCE 2005) and my cable TV signal (to the internal tuner).

The Slingbox PRO allows you to watch and control up to three standard definition and one high definition video devices anywhere you go. Using an Internet connected computer or mobile device, you can watch and control your home TV, DVR, basic cable, digital cable box, or satellite receiver around town or around the globe.

You will have a chance to test drive remote access to this SlingBox Pro during tonight's chat session. :D You will have to download and install the SlingBox Client though. I also do not have a HDTV input :D .

So if you are curious or are considering purchasing a SlingBox be sure to tune into tonight's chat!

I won't be able to attend, but I would certainly like hearing people's opinions, so please post your thoughts here after the chat.

Same here. Gotta run to the local HS basketball game. Let us know what your early take on the device is.

I moved this thread to the hardware forum since the chat session is now over. Feel free to leave comments though.

We had some fun testing this out during the chat session! :D

It worked well for me. I was seeing BSR's tv fare after spending 2 minutes setting up the client program. The download itself took more time then setting up the program!

I've got an older slingbox and love it for what it does.

In our case, it's slinging the output of our tivo and enables us to watch "home" channels, including premium content and stored tivo content while at our 2nd home.

Keeps us from subscribing to cable/sat when we're not there often enough to justify the cost.

The quality is "fair", acceptable for this use.

Perhaps if we had more upstream bandwidth..
