Unable to access OmniPro II (3.13) with PC Dealer Access

Have been using my Dealer PC Access to access my HAI system; however, it just stopped allowing me in. I get the following error code in the bottom left corner "Communication Status: Connection Refused (100061)." Nothing has changed - just stopped allowing me in. Thoughts?

Is this a network or serial connection?
If network, what is the status of the 2 leds next to the data port? Have you verified the ip address of the Omni?
If serial, have you tried another serial port on the omni?

Thanks for your response. It is a network connection. The two lights show the left one is solid red the right flashing red. Not sure how to check the actual up on the computer. Nothing has changed. I believe it was set up as 10.0.0.196 but I don’t see that anywhere when I do an ipconfig.

Found the ip address on the keypad. (10.0.0.196) It is correct in PC Access. Pinged it and the panel is responding. Checked the Keys and they are correct. Tried loading a new file and get the same result. Was thinking of going directly into the panel but not sure what I am doing if I do so.

Sounds like a network issue.

Just do a continuous ping (30 minutes?) and watch what happens.

Try powering down panel including disconnecting the battery. Then try again with PC Access.

Have powered down the panel and ds connected the battery a number of times will try the ping for longer. Thanks

Went into the panel directly. Really not sure what I was doing but got the same result i.e. no connection. Got back onto the network and then I got a connection. Quickly downloaded the file and saved it. Was then browsing the automation module and the connection dropped. Unable to get back on. When I did the continuous ping it would occasionally be interrupted and then continue to ping. Not sure if this means anything?

What automation module?

X-10, UPB, Z-Wave and Zigbee modules / controllers are connected via serial link.

It could be that your Ethernet chip on the board is starting to fail. That said it can get "constipated" due to the traffic on the LAN.

The Ethernet port is 1/2 duplex 10Mbs. Some folks have connected old 10Mbs switches to the Ethernet port on the HAI board.

Personally here use a Microrouter on the Ethernet Port (Years now).

Here is my DIY for using a Microrouter. Note this is what I used when I had the intermittent disconnect issues.

Microrouter DIY for use with the Omni Pro Panel Ethernet port

Any old router will do for testing.

First many thanks to you and @dwalt for your responses. I seem to have resolved the issue and it was a network problem as you had suggested. I unplugged the board form the network and was still able to ping the ip address. Obviously a conflict. Had to seal off the DCHP above 150 to maintain the static ip. Problem solved. Again thanks for your help.

PS on the automation module I should have said "tab" not module.

Cheers

The DCHP thing can be frustrating. I've had routers where the static IPs had to be in the DCHP range, and others where they had to be outside the DHCP range. A good router should always honor the static IP addresses, but some don't. And I've seem routers if the static address is outside the DHCP range, they don't allow that. The Omni has a static IP but its best to set the same static IP for the Omni in the router as well.
