Using X10 Slave switch with SmartLinc?

First of all, thanks to all of you for an amazing resource to a budding home-automator!

I have a an X10 Pro slave switch (WS14A) that is currently working with a dimmer switch (XPD3). I need to change the dimmer switch to a relay-based one since the switch controls a fluorescent light. If I put in a SwitchLinc relay switch (23885), can I still use the WS14A, or do I need a SwitchLinc-brand companion switch?

I would never mix the switches. It's not worth the worries about something being incompatible.
