Control Think (http://www.controlthink.com) are developing a low-cost
ZWave SDK (along with various ZWave network management utilities) which
will be provided with the new Intermatic USB ZWave interface, or will be
available (for a small charge) to use with other ZWave interfaces. The
current estimate for this to become available is March.

At the same time as the SDK release, the xPL project will make available
its ZWave gateway application for Windows, allowing Zwave devices to be
integrated into an xPL network.

One other thing worth noting is that the new Harmony 895 remote uses
Zwave for it's RF control, making that a great choice for an integrated
system.

Thats cool. I have been working on a xAP connector for z-wave but I have very little time to actually work on it these days. I would love to get my hands on the source code so that I can use it as an example and maybe make an xAP version just like it.

Hi Squintz

xPL and xAP are different.......If a user uses xPL then can pass on messages to the xAP world , but im almost sure you cant get any xPL messages from the xAP world ....

xAP and xPL have subtle differences and they can be bridged in either direction. My hub does both xAP and xPL and will route some selected schema. If I recall I bridged xPL Basic Control and xAP xap-x10. When I originally did it I was going to use a separate connector for the bridge, but it was so trivial for what I wanted to do I just made it part of the hub. More robust schema mapping probably should be done in a separate connector so the hub functionality will not be compromised. Other than dabbling a little with xPL I have no ongoing use so there may be some things of which I'm not aware, but it is all software without any critical timing requirements so one should be able to achive whatever they desire.

I did the shell for an xAP INSTEON connector many months ago, but sent the INSTEON SDK back when I discovered it was not yet ready for prime time. I know that their SDM still leaves a lot to be desired. I do not know if I will ever resume the project.
