Hayward Pool Automation

I've seen some posts here about pool automation and I'll be putting in a pool myself this spring. The company I'm using deals with Hayward products so I started digging to find a way to automate everything. Hayward now has a product called Aqua Connect HA. It uses RS232 back to the home automation system to control and display all aspects of the pool/equipment and requires either their Aqua Logic PS or Pro Logic PS systems. Looks pretty good. Anyone have experience with this product?

What are you considering using to control the system?

The Aqua Connect isn't the most robust solution for pool control. It only provides access to the system via a virtual keypad so you don't have discrete access to things like temperature, salt levels, etc. The Jandy product line provides a higher level of control. Don't actually have either equipment though so can't comment on the actual systems themselves. If you post a question over on CQC forums about user experience with each you should get a couple of replies.

Might give you a few ideas even if you don't want to put together an open source solution...

RS-485 on the Hayward pro-logic is pretty straight forward. A $60 RS485 to Ethernet plus an Ethernet to Wifi bridge gets the data from my pool to the internet. A script running on a server pumps the data into a database and a PHP page provides the data. All open source if anyone is interested.

I will be trying to send some key strokes so I can record the diags to the database also: cell voltage, current , temp, etc. Also remote control.

But, I'm really interested with your solution.
I've an Hayward Aquarite Pro, and a Home Automation Vera, I'd like to communicate with the RS485 of Hayward through Ethernet.

I have contacted Hayward, but they told me there was no solution, and I have no news from Klaxxon.
