Haiku Network detection

Is it possible for HAikuHelper to discover when a MAC address has joined or left the network?  Would work well for trigger events when I leave the house with my iPhone connected to the home wifi...

We have location proximity detection and now in Haiku 4.0 iBeacon support is coming as well for this purpose. Its probably a better way of doing this.
