Voice announcements

I have a new M1G installation and having trouble getting the zones to announce. The system announces the arm and disarms fine but doesn't announce any zone changes, doors, windows etc. Zones function as they should in the rules.
 
Any ideas?
 
 
 
 

Basic question: Have you enabled the Chime function on the keypads?
 
If I remember correctly, once for tone, twice for voice, 3x for voice/tone, and again for off.
 
Note: This doesn't need to be done on EACH keypad, but rather a keypad per Area.

You must also enable chime in each zone individually. It is easy to do with the elkrp software.

Don't forget, the voice announcement text also needs to be programmed.

Thanks for the tips, guys. Turns out the chime/voice function was off at every keypad. Enabling it at one keypad restored the announcements. It's been 6 years since I installed an Elk (at our previous home) and have forgotten some of the basics.
