Line Drivers for 1-Wire bus

We have had several discussions about folks having problems driving long 1-wire buses or
noisy environments. While I have not had a problem with my designs thought this Ideas
for Design in the April 2015 print Electronics Design Magazine might be helpful.

It uses half of a NXP PCA9600 I2C buffer at each end of the cable. The buffer separates
the bidirectional 1-wire data into TX and Rx directions. According to the article it is
transparent, so no software changes required.

Tom,

That is a smart way to use PCA9600 chip.  A good electronics engineer would appreciate this kind of spark of mind.
In 2.2.2 hardware and later firmware releases, it addressed longer 1-wire bus issue. However, if environment noise is too much, this method would provide better handling to that situation.

Thanks for bring this kind of idea to the forum.
