non-alarm zone display on Navigator Touchscreen ?

I have a zone (the garage door) that is a non-alarm-type zone, but it appears that non-alarm zones don't appear in the zone status listing on the Navigator Touchscreen.  (I change the status to "burglar interior" and re-sync the keypad and it gets displayed).
 
Any one know how to get it to appear in the Navigator zone list?  Is there any innocuous other "zone definition" I could use that won't cause side-effects, yet will make it appear on the keypad ?

Non alarm isn't seen by the security portion, only by rules or other actions driven by generic status.

Would it work to set it as an alarm zone but then bypass it on arming?

I would try setting the zone as an alarm type, bypassable and force-armable. Then write a rule to bypass the zone each time the system is armed.

Another way you should be able to see it is to set a phantom output to be on/off based on the zone condition (e.g. if the door is open, the output is ON). Then you could just check the output status.
