Console beeping on Entry Delay

Hello,

I have a OmniPro II running 3.16 and I am having some intermittent issues with the consoles.  Sometimes they beep when the entry delay is active and other times they don't.  In the last few weeks I'm noticed that they never seen to beep.

Is there a setting somewhere I am missing for these?

Thanks

M

Have you checked the wire loop values with PCA?  Here had one door frame stretch over time and just pull on the wires until they broke.  Initially it was an intermittent thing ...beeps didn't occur every time.

I am not sure that the entry delay beeping would change if it is configured in PCA.  You could just do a warm reset of the panel if you want.

Here too my Omnitouch consoles switch sometimes go from a beep to a squawk where I have to reset the console to get the beep back.  The squawk sound is not subtle.

Pete,

The wires to the console are definitely OK - I have 4 consoles and all seem to have the same intermittent issue.

Whats the best way for a warm reset? pull power + battery?

No no.

It wouldn't be related to the 4 console wires as you would be getting communications errors too.

It would maybe be related to the 2 door NC/NO wires and switch that has an intermittent connection.  That said that would or could cause false triggers.  A lose or disconnecting wire will cause the loop value to keep changing way up or down.  Note that all of your loop values stay around the same number while watching with PCA.

If the door were to shift some it could move the magnet too.

for a warm reset just do it on a keypad console or Omnitouch console. (omnitouch I think is system setup)

IE:

1 -  number 9 setup
2 - key in your installer code
3 - # key
4 - 6 key MISC
5 - down / up arrow until you get to reset system RAM; yes or no (zero or one).
6 - be careful - you only want a RAM warm reset and not a cold reset.

You can too just remove the battery and power.

I don't really think that a warm reset will fix this though and do think more that it may be a hardware problem.  Check too if the terminal strip screw downs are tight inside of your Omnipro 2 panel.

The screen on the keypad and the OmniTouch screens show that the alarm is waiting for disarm and in entry delay mode so it has registered than the door sensor has been tripped.  Just no beeping.

Thank you for the steps - i'll give that a try when I get home tonight.

Ahhh ...OK.  I have here also accidentally turned off the beeping at the keyboard sometimes here.

The #3 button is the beep and no beep button.  You do not have to enter a password to change it.

When you hit the #3 key it is just up or down to shut off the beeps.

Hi Pete,

Sorry for the delay.  I finally got around to doing the reset (as per your instructions) last night and hey presto - all of my consoles now beep again.

How strange is that??

Madas,

I've had the same thing happen to me.  If you hit 00 on the keypad, it will disable the beeps and entry chime.  Press 01 and it will enable it.  It took me a bit, but I noticed when my son enters the code, he sometimes hits 00 while entering the code.  We have the beeper disabled on two of our panels.  What I did to help resolve the accidental disabling of the beeps what put an automation block in that runs once a day that resets the beeps on the control panels.  It is below:

WHEN Reset Console Beeps
   THEN Back Door ENABLE BEEPS
   THEN Front Door ENABLE BEEPS
   THEN Master Bedroom DISABLE BEEPS
   THEN Upstairs DISABLE BEEPS
THEN SHOW Configuration has changed. NO BEEP
THEN Timer for Config Change Message ON FOR 15 SECONDS

I have setup a button called "Reset Console".  I also have a TIMED 1:00 AM MTWTRSS to run this button.
