M1 not waiting for # key in automation menu

I'm having trouble controlling tasks and lighting by phone.  For both tasks and lighting, after prompting to press the pound key to change, the M1 immediately returns to reciting the main menu options.  If I press the task number followed immediately by the # key, the task executes.  For some of the lights, that same procedure works, but only once, and only after executing a task.  For other lights, nothing woks, and it goes straight back to reciting the main menu options.
 
Also, I have "show" checked for 4 tasks, and all 23 of the lights.  Only task 1 is announced; none of the lights are.

Heh, while I knew it was feasible, I didn't know anyone who actually executed tasks via keypad. I always use eKeypad. 
 
Unfortunately, since we moved, I don't have my system up and running yet... so I can't help troubleshoot this one
