Overhead rollup door contacts

Anybody  had ever installed one of these overhead door contacts?
 
 
 

I put a rollup door contact on my garage door.  I put it at the top edge of the door instead of the bottom.  More out of the way and less likely to get damaged.
 

 
 

If you are just alarming your door, you can install it on the top or bottom. For bottom you mount the sensor to your floor, then the magnet just touches it. Your car can run over the sensor without a problem.  I like the bottom better because if your door were to break apart with a real break-in, I think the bottom would dislodge and possibly the top wouldn't.
 
If you are planning automation, I would install two of these, one for door open, one for door closed. It makes it much easier to control than a single sensor which doesn't tell you much when the door is half open.

If security were paramount, multiple would need to be installed as the doors are very easy to bow or remove from a track.
 
Generally speaking, I prefer on the header or track mounting, otherwise floor if last resort.

Check out some web pictures. The top of the door usually stays intact, the bottom usually doesn't. If you don't want something like this triggering your alarm, go ahead and mount your sensor on the top.

20+ years of installation and real world experience.
 
It's easier to fold the top down than bow the bottom out on a sectional, however both are commonly done to compromise a typical OHD contact. Only 2 rollers to deal with vs 4 on the lower sections. The takeaway here is a sectional OHD is inherently not secure no matter the installation of a single contact.

I can't find my pictures at the moment, but I have an examples of doors compromised in all manners. Same with a 36" steel door with the bottom folded up to gain entry without setting off the alarm.
