Elk m1gold: Setup motion near panel now panel is not ready to arm

I just installed a motion detector near my panel but when I go to set the alarm, it shows as not ready because I am tripping the motion sensor.  Any way for the motion to be disabled until it is armed in away mode?

Set the motion detector zone attributes to "force armable."  That will allow you to arm the system even though the motion detector isn't secure.   It won't trip an alarm until after the exit delay timeout has expired.
 
If you have trouble with the alarm tripping before you have a chance to disarm the system when you return, set the zone definition to "burglar interior follower."
