https?

is there a reason this site doesn't use https?

it seems to of been down / unavailable to me for a few weeks, and just now when I gave it a shot it was back up.

doing a password reset w/out https is sort of dorky.

What would the point of using https be?

The forum has locked out FireFox browsers now so the population may be declining already.

HTTPS is a bit of a joke that increases bandwidth everywhere and slows things down.

If you pass me a password online and I see it and then use it, what makes anybody think a hacker can't use the same password encryption and read all the encrypted data going by?

They definitely support https.  Many search engines today don't even consider non-https sites valid.  Be highly suspicious of non https sites.

It looks like this senseless decision ("HTTPS is a bit of a joke") didn't make the cutover. good.
The site is on a whole new platform now, and have implemented the strictest configuration (SSL report is an A now). There were technical issues which prevented me from implementing it without breaking the previous platform the site was using.
