    10 Mbps Wi-fi Bridge

Hi folks, Just to add to this post, I now have my WC8 running using the TL-WA801ND wireless N access point. I have it set in client mode. Sitting on my couch in the den I can access the WC from my ipad via the FIOS Actiontech main wireless router. Seems to be working fine. Mike

    WC 8 mounting holes

Does anyone know off hand the size of the mounting holes and the screw size? Also, what is the best way to mount to a metal plate in a box. I don't want nuts on the back of the plate. Are there pop in nylon standoffs that work? Thanks, Mike

    I2C slave device support

Can you give an example of writing text and/or data to an LCD if that will be possible?

    I2C slave device support

I2C would be a nice addition. Would we be limited to specific devices or will all I2C devices work? Thanks, Mike

    TSTEQ IP1[5000] 0 ?

Well that explains a lot. I was using the "17e" version of the manual which is the one linked on the CAI website. Just a thought, maybe instead of linking to a specific manual when clicking "PLC manual" it should be linked to the list of all available manuals so the user can pick the correct one...

    TSTEQ IP1[5000] 0 ?

Well that is indeed very interesting. I have had the same question! I can't see this covered in the documentation anywhere. I knew you could permenantly invert an input through the GUI but did not know you could do this for a test. This begs the question: what other little (or big) things are...

CAI Firmware update & customer service

I just wanted to publicly say CAI has exceptional customer service. They are fast with return emails and responses on this forum. I don't know if it's all one guy or multiple people, but all companies should be like this.   I just sent my boards for firmware update. I put them in the mail on...

    Rotary Encoder Programming

Hi Folks,   First thanks RossW for your help on this.   Second, I sent my boards back to CAI for firmware upgrade and my input non-blocking delay problem (described above) is gone. The input delay now works as I expect.   Thanks!   Mike

    DS2438 support

I have never had a problem with any 1 wire chips heating up on wc8 or any other host system. Why would they design a chip that has temperature measurement built in if it had a heating issue at recommended system timing? Doesn't make sense to me.

    CT displayed in VAR

    Ok, so I think I get it...... Time =14:25:00 14 = 0e hex 25 = 19 hex 00 = 00 hex 0e1900 convert to integer 923904 which is what I see in VAR1 Thanks, Mike

    CT displayed in VAR

Hi folks,   Question about how time (or date) is displayed in a VAR in the GUI.....   When I do this (SET VAR1 14:25:00), I get this (923904) displayed in in VAR1.   What is that number? Is it some amount of time since something? Or the time converted to some other format? is there any way to...

    DS2438 support

DS2438 is marketed as smart battery monitor but is used by others for many purposes since it has a/d converter and temperature monitoring in one chip. I would rather still have the DS2450 quad a/ d converter since I made some input boards to my system based on that chip: but it is out of...

    Rotary Encoder Programming

Thanks Ross. I'll give it a try when I get back from my trip and let you know how it works. At the risk of derailing my own thread, are your polar mount solar trackers still working? Have the shaft and metal blocks held up to the weather and wear without bearings? Anything you would change...

    Rotary Encoder Programming

rossw,   Are you the same rossw on thebackshed.com? Thanks for your help here. I added your code and it works for ip1 fail low but not fail high. "xor ip1 ram2 ram2" evaluates as F,F,F,F,F,F,F, for each successive scan during fail low but T,F,T,F,T,F,T,F for fail high so it never gets to...

    Input edge detect

Hi folks, I read on another post that CAI was going to add edge detect command to the firmware. Did this ever get done? If not, is it still being considered? Rising or falling or both? Thanks, Mike
