and the answer ended up being no, you need the SIP server to handle the communications from the Helios to the Omni so the announcement can be activated.

I have a Helios 2n Intercom connected to an OminoPro II and am wanting to know if you can activate an "Announcement" such as "Visitor at Front Door" via the Omni without a SIP server. ?
If so, how would you configure both devices for that outcome ?

Thanks for the responses. I don't think I can use an Omnistat2 as I would not be able to control the zones from my review of the manual.

I have been changing the names of the lighting units within UpStart (UPB) application but cannot work out how these get uploaded into Omnipro II and subsequently down into my iPhone with updated names.

I have an Omino Pro II and when I leave the house and hit the "away" button on the controller to activate security it places it in "day" mode. If when I go out I activate via my iPhone on "away" it holds the setting ok. Any ideas what is wrongly configured to stop this behaviour ?

The beeps are back so the reesetting of the connection did not seem to do the trick. As I have an answering machine based on the above response "I need to reset the rings on the each device and the Omni so they don't conflict", now might I go about doing that ?

I disconnected the Omni and it did not happen. I reconnected the Omni again and it also did not happen. So it seems at this stage that a re-set of the connection appears to have fixed the problem......at least I hope so. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
