    Phantom rule

Finally managed to find some time and nut this out.  Ended up loading a blank account into the M1 and slowly adding various parts of the config until I notice the issue re-occur.   Turns out the problem was in the "Globals" G29-G42 (Special) tab.  Somehow "Two-Way Listen-in Enable" was selected...

    Phantom rule

Thanks for your ideas, they are some things I hadn't thought of.   Creating a fresh account and re-importing the the M1 config didnt show any diff.   Creating a fresh account in another DB I had then reimporting then re-sending didnt help   Creating a fresh account with only a user and the...

    Phantom rule

Phantom rule or ghost within the m1?   Got a strange situation and was wondering if anyone had struck it or had a solution to fixing it.   A long time ago I ran the power for my M1EXP via a relay on an M1RB and wrote some rules to operate the output so the n/c connections would open for 10 sec...

    Idea to handle Garage Doors

Why not just put a read relay next to the garage door motor, connect it to a zone, set the zone to fast trip (or what ever it is) Then write a rule that disarms the system providing the motor zone is tripped b4 the door zone?

[How-To] Control an Elk M1 via External Perl Scripting

I recently tried to use the PLC functionality in this module and discovered some problems. Below is what I had to do to fix them The lines and modules I changed on my installation were /usr/local/share/perl/5.10.1/ElkM1/Control/Message/PLCStatusReply.pm line 68 < 'PLCStatusReply...

    Elk Navigator questions

Sorry but it's a fail for me. The surround is too large compared to the screen size, heck it looks like it belongs in a kids toybox. Maybe I'm getting old but a screen that size is a joke, bump it up to 5" and reduce the surround size, square it up so it looks modern and you may tempt me.

Any Product Which Allows ELK Armed Status to be Displayed in Web Page?

If it is your own custom web page you are wanting to expand, a simple perl program using the module discussed at [How-To] Control an Elk M1 via External Perl Scripting, ElkM1::Control Provides an Elegant API to the M1 Gold works great for me.

Elk m1 rules help - time after?

This doesn't work, have a read of this at elk. It should be broken down into two rules eg WHENEVER (some event occurs) AND TIME OF DAY IS LATER THAN 5:00 PM THEN (execute the rule steps) WHENEVER (some event occurs) AND TIME OF DAY IS EARLIER THAN 7:30 AM THEN (execute the rule steps)

Send ASCII -> IP not working

Thanks heaps, that was it. I'm going to make up a label and stick it on the battery inside the can.

Send ASCII -> IP not working

I must be missing something basic, because no matter what I try I am unable to get the M1 to even try to connect via the ethernet. The M1 was just flashed to 5.1.14, the M1XEP is at 1.2.14, but it doesnt matter what I try, even following the example in the ELK-M1 RS232 nothing is ever sent, I...
