Two way feedback is not an issue. Most HA software allows you to poll the device to look for changes. This change would be recognized and then you can trigger macros from it. Two way feedback might give you an extra second of response time. In the example you gave this wouldn't be an issue...

Couldn't you also automatically disarm your security once you enter the correct key sequence to get into the house. Now you don't need to do this once you get into the house.
