Elk M1 to monitor door deadbolt status. Programming question...

It's so simple, it's almost embarrassing. I used GRI (George Risk Industries) PBF-2020T plunger switches mounted in the end of the deadbolt dust cups in the door jambs. The switches recess into a 3/8" hole and have a two screw flange that secures it there. It also has a screw that fits into the...

Elk M1 to monitor door deadbolt status. Programming question...

Finally got everything hooked up and programmed. Works like a charm. Thank you! Also added programming to tell you which door is unlocked by pressing the F4 key. Works great unless more than one door is not secured and then it only displays the last unsecured door.

Thanks RAL. I'll give that a shot.

Elk M1 to monitor door deadbolt status. Programming question...

This is where I'm running into trouble. Each deadbolt is on a separate zone. I can't figure out out to write the rules such that the LED will illuminate if any of the deadbolts are unsecured, and self-restore when all are secured.

Elk M1 to monitor door deadbolt status. Programming question...

I have switches that monitor the position of the deadbolts in my house. I want the F4 button LED to illuminate if any of the deadbolts are not locked, and go dark if all deadbolts are secure. I can't figure out how to get the F4 LED to "follow" the status of all three deadbolts. How do I...

Ok, dumb question about Elk outputs above 64...

Thanks for the memory joggers guys! It's been awhile, and I couldn't remember how to use those outputs. It would be nice if we could label them. Maybe someday...

Ok, dumb question about Elk outputs above 64...

So they're not "predetermined" so to speak?

Ok, dumb question about Elk outputs above 64...

It's been awhile since I programmed my Elk M1 and I cannot for the life of me remember where to view the outputs above 64 (I'm using the ElkRP software). I seem to remember that they are fixed and cannot be changed, but I have a rule programmed to turn on some lights via my ISY and it references...

    How to send text messages?

Thanks for the replies. I'm looking into the ISY capabilities to see if it can do what I want.

    How to send text messages?

Thanks for the reply. We're on Verizon, and as far as I know, it's [email protected]. How can you insert zone/event info into an email? I'm also using an ISY with the Elk module if that's any help. Also, in setting up the email server, I read somewhere that the Elk cannot send email to...

    How to send text messages?

I want my Elk M1 to send me and my wife a text message if it goes into alarm. Ideally, it would also show the zone that's in alarm. Is there a "how to" somewhere on how to accomplish this? I have the M1XEP. David

Which speaker for Elk M1 keypad?

Been working LOOOONG hours this week, so I haven't been able to check this thread. I kinda suspected that's what you did to get the speaker, but wasn't sure. Thanks for the info!

Which speaker for Elk M1 keypad?

I am putting together an Elk M1 Gold security/automation system and would like to place speakers behind the keypads. I will be using the M1KP2 keypads with the M1BBK2 recess mount back boxes. I need to know what speakers to order (I will have two keypads) that will mount in the cutouts provided...

New ELK M1 System. Sensor recommendations???

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like Sentrol/GE is a favorite (I almost forgot GE owns Sentrol). On the subject of breaking glass (windows), any tricks to trapping a double hung window? We used to use trapped screens where I used to work, but they're way beyond my budget. I suppose I could...

New ELK M1 System. Sensor recommendations???

I'm putting together a security/automation system based on the Elk M1 Gold. I haven't been active in the home security business for a while, so I'm not familiar with what's available in the way of motion detectors and glass breaks. I used to use C&K (now Honeywell) DT7400 series and they worked...
