Master hub channel bad, anyone seen one like this?

It's the hub, just don't know what caused it, probably just chip went bad. Everything is in place, this isn't a new installation. All had to do was move the rj45's to the other channels and works, move them back to channel one and don't. Moving the rj45's doesn't move any of the sensors...

Master hub channel bad, anyone seen one like this?

Sup man. Yep, actually several times and the computer also. At first I thought maybe the computer app locked up or something.

Master hub channel bad, anyone seen one like this?

Master Channel Hub. Hadn't checked my temps for few days and decided to yesterday to find no temp readings. Checked further back and found where it stopped. Took me a bit cause thought it was software, but it wasn't, Channel One went bad. So I moved everything to Channel Two and Three and they...

Need help with new Master Hub

Ya, Digitemp works great with the hub with DS18S20 powered or parasitic. If you switch to Owfs it has to be done a little differently cause it doesn't read thru the hub unless you explicity tell it to. But you can control switches,... with Owfs where as Digitemp doesn't.

    Product Request

That is great news to hear, but too late for me at least with current project. Already bought a 4PDT to add to my relayboard control circuit.

Need help with new Master Hub

Here Here! I am all for Instant Gratification. Even though I solder quite well and have done it a lot over the years with much success, I didn't feel the cost savings of the kit over the assembled and tested boards was worth it. Also I only have my knowledge and a DVM at home and this was my...

Need help with new Master Hub

Don't know if I would qualify as an authority on this. I have a lot of soldering experience, but only surface mount stuff have done is to replace a bad part. I just recently removed/replaced a bad surface mount on a 6 channel master hub and technique worked. - I wouldn't paint flux on the...

    Max current on 1-wire

Due to the back emf wouldn't it be more likely to cause a spike or noise on the line when you deactivate the relay instead of when activating? The supression diode should take care of most of it but I would still think that would be the time most likely to introduce some noise. Wish I had a...

Using External Power to Run a Fan

80ma shouldn't be too much. But I asked a similar question of Eric about using the cat5e 12vdc to run the relay board and he said a short run shouldn't be a problem with voltage drop. BUT, the relays might introduce noise into the 1-wire lines. So possible a fan would do the same thing. Guess...

Relay board, pretty sure can't do this.

Yes, that is true. I was mainly thinking that if the furnace was on, by looking at the plenum temp, to not turn the gas relay off to just turn my 1wire on and do what it was already engaged in. So that leaves two things to look at. Check to make sure furnace plenum isn't high (gas relay probably...

Relay board, pretty sure can't do this.

Ya, I decided to go with a 24vac 4PDT relay. I have an extra 24vac transformer from aprilaire install that not using (the current sense relay on the fan stopped working, so I just moved the humidifier solenoid to the main 24vac xfmr to the heater relay from the tstat. Then it comes on when the...

    Max current on 1-wire

My run was going to be about 10ft. Too bad I don't have an o'scope, was thinking about noise on the line, that is why was going to be on separate channel on the hub. Thought that might be enough, since I access each channel at a different time. But Owfs keeps a virtual filesystem on the devices...

    Max current on 1-wire

Anyone have a more definite answer on the max current. I ask cause on the relay board the 12v is jumpered to the regulator. But says this on the info page: I have a 1amp transformer supplying the Master Hub board and the powering the temp sensors. If I remember correct the coil current on...

Relay board, pretty sure can't do this.

Yes, I was concerned about the tstat and the feedback also. I think putting another relay to isolate the tstat when then 1-wire is controlling is the correct way to go with this. That was my original plan until I found my booboo on the relayboard relays. So I was just looking for possible...
