    Prefix required?

Yep, I see the prefixes now, thanks! However, although I understand that things posted to "Classified" must be approved by a staff member, I was surprised that once I clicked "post" I did not get any message saying something "thanks for posting, your post will be reviewed and then become...

    Prefix required?

I am trying to post in the Classifieds forum, but I keep getting "You must select a topic prefix", but I don't see anywhere to select a "For Sale" prefix. Any ideas? Thanks, David

    Coupler not working

You guys were right on! I do need the phase coupler, but there are a couple of surge protectors that break the signal. Even with nothing plugged into the surge protector (but the surge protector plugged into the wall), the X10 doesn't work! Is there anyway to fix that? One of them is a belkin...

    Coupler not working

So I did that experiment, and with only the dryer breaker and the two breakers in the room that I want to both work on, it still didn't work! Am I just SOL?

    Coupler not working

I have two X10 appliance modules that are apparently on different phases. I got one of these: http://www.smarthome.com/4816A2/SignaLinc-...-Coupler/p.aspx And plugged it into the dryer outlet. However, the appliance module on the other phase is still not getting the signals. The dryer outlet...

Remote that looks like a wall switch

That's fine that they have to be sequential, but am I correct in my understanding that one switch will turn on say 5 outlets as long as the outlets are on the same channel? Also, do these things break often (ie is it worth getting the warranty?) Dave

X10 Lamp Module vs Applicance Module

What is the difference between these? They told me since I have the compact florescent bulbs in my lamps that I'd need an appliance module. I was under the impression that the modules simply toggled the power to the device - how is that done in two separate products? Thanks, Dave

Remote that looks like a wall switch

waynew, just so I'm sure, I can control multiple outlets with one of those buttons as long as the outlets are all on the same channel? Why are levitron and zwave so much more expensive than X10? All I want to do is toggle outlets... it seems like the cheap solution would be fine here? Thanks...

Remote that looks like a wall switch

Jimmyjam, So that Levitron switch actually goes in a box in the wall but no wires need to be connected? WayneW, it seems you have linked to this thread! Dave

Remote that looks like a wall switch

I want to have a lightswitch that control an outlet across the room without having to run a wire. X10 sounded perfect, but they said the only way to do that is to get a transceiver to plug into the outlet across the room and use a remote control (held in your hand). What I want is an actual...
