    Unable to set M1 clock?

Inside the M1G plastic case.  Per the M1 install guide:   Lithium 3V "Clock" battery, Varta #CR2032 located in upper left corner behind cover. Battery has a life expectancy of approx. 10 years. Replace ONLY with exact model available at most electronics and camera retailers. "CAUTION: Lithium...

    Inexpensive M1 add-on for extended rules/emails - ISY?

Thanks for the reply.  Elve looks interesting, but the project seems to have gone dead.  The last SW update is over a year ago.  There's been discussion on open sourcing it, but those seem to have gone fallow as of last summer too.   I think I'll continue to research the ISY or HomeTroller Zee...

    Inexpensive M1 add-on for extended rules/emails - ISY?

I've been running an M1 for a long while and have been happy with it.  I have the XEP and XSZLW/VRC0P integration with a couple of 2Gig stats.   I'm looking for an inexpensive add-on that will allow me to do a bit more with rules, including sending emails with dynamic content.  My preference...

Elk/Thermostat integration - current "state of the art"?

I've done Elk thermostat integrations in the past using RCS and HAI devices.  Hoewever, in looking at RCS, they no longer seem to have hardwired stats and I see no other hardwired stat options for Elk besides the Apirlaire and HAI.   The use case I'm looking to solve is two neighboring...

*** Uplink 4500EZ Serial Connector Pic. Need to find the pin out...

To close the loop on this:  I ended up ordering these from Digi-Key.  They worked just fine and with the right angle, the cover closes nicely.

*** Uplink 4500EZ Serial Connector Pic. Need to find the pin out...

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I'm having trouble with my Uplink 2500 and have decided to upgrade to the 4500.  I'm going to take the old cable and hack it to work.   It looks like this will be a good connector for the 4500 end and I'd appreciate it if anyone who has one can verify.  ...

    Simple wireless system?

Happy New Year folks. A friend asked me about the SimpliSafe system. They're enamored of the wireless sensors, built-in cellular up-link, and email & SMS based alerting. This looks like a low end consumer system and the negative posts almost all speak to the lack of reliability of the...

    Unable to set M1 clock?

A winner! That did it. Now clock is settable and log works too. Of course, time based rules work now too. Thank you very much.

    Unable to set M1 clock?

Thanks. Neither is working. For all: This is a system that's been working for over 5 years. It seems to have failed to come back from an extended (>50 hour) power loss.

    Unable to set M1 clock?

One more data point: Just realized the log is empty. Even after the power cycle and connecting with RP again, still empty.

    Unable to set M1 clock?

Hadn't tried that, but just did. After entry of each part of the time (DOW, month, day, year, hours, minutes) the previous entry zeros out. Nothing ends up being set. Wondering if the RTC chip is fried..

    Unable to set M1 clock?

Howdy folks. Back from a visit and I'm trying to put things right after the house was without power during the mid-atlantic storms a week ago. M1 is showing 1/1/2000 12:00:00AM. I tried setting via NTP. Then power cycled the M1. Then tried setting via RP "Set Date/Time from PC". None of...

How does an M1 associate serial interfaces to thermostats?

I changed the RCS to become unit #2 and all is working. So it looks like thermostats have to have globally unique addresses. Since it was #1, I had to modify existing rules to point to the different number.

Trouble adding Omnistat 2000 to M1

Fixed. Didn't change a thing wiring wise. What I did was to renumber the "network address" of the existing RCS thermostat from 1 to 2. It looks like the thermostat addresses need to be globally unique. Since they were hanging off of different XSPs, I hadn't thought there would be a conflict...

How does an M1 associate serial interfaces to thermostats?

More info: The Omnistat is "unit #1", hooked to XSP #1. The RCS is "unit #1", hooked to XSP #2. Should I re-address the RCS to start at "network address 2"? In other words, is the M1 thermostat # in RP the network or unit address of the device regardless of which XSP it is connected to? If...
