1.0.48 is the latest regular firmware. 1.0.50 is for a specific lighting controller other than upb. Do you have the 36a00-1? I am having trouble getting this to work.
Hello, is this 15-year-old post about the PCS 36A00-1? I am having trouble getting it to work with my elk-m1xsp set to UPB mode using standard firmware 1.0.48. Do you have any suggestions?
Update: I found a very inexpensive LTE router on eBay: Teltonika RUT240. Seems a perfect match for the M1XEP. M1XEP to RUT240 LAN port, RUT240 WAN port to home LAN. Data sim inside RUT240 serves as failover connection just for the ELK M1XEP. For now I have the M1XEP and RUT240 on my home server...
Thanks for all your terrific ideas. I will look into the lte modems you mentioned. Since the wf720 worked out so well for me while 3G was still around, I ordered a zte wf723ca. Testing showed that outgoing dtmf works and incoming dtmf didn't. It was working in VoLTE mode and the voice quality...
Hello, I have an Elk M1 Gold and M1XEP. Internet is the main central station reporting method, and phone (Contact ID) via a fixed wireless terminal (WF720 in the attic) is the backup. Now Alarm Relay told me the backup reporting signals coming into central station are garbled. I am confused...
What would be a good successor to my Elk M1 Gold? I've lost faith in ELK coming up with a good successor (announced ELK E27 alarm engine keeps getting postponed and doesn't aim to be a drop-in replacement). I have 319.5MHz wireless GE sensors and a lot of hardwired sensors. I also control lights...
Hello, I have a UPB switch in my house which can be controlled via UPB perfectly but the switch itself is at times unresponsive. I have read about switch contacts failing. Are these contacts easy to repair? While I still have a spare, I would hate to just throw away this switch if all it is is...
Hi Deckard,
The elk 930 is just a current detector. The way I have it is best visualized with this diagram:

I hope you can see it via this link. The idea is as follows: the pro power kit allows some current to leak without buzzing the bell...
I had the random triggers too and explained a few posts back that you need to think of the elk930 and the chime as a unit. I.e. any wiring diagram showing a chime you put the elk930 right next to it as if chime&elk930 form a single device. Once you hook it up like that the problem goes away. I...
This is exactly what my problem was. The Elk 930 and the chime must be regarded as a unit in terms of bypassing using the power kit. I rewired using this approach today instead of just bypassing the chime with the power kit and have not gotten any false ELK 930 trigger despite the Ring Pro...
I have the exact same setup. 930 and ring pro doorbell, provided power kit installed. Also false triggers the 930 when the IR led lights are on at night! I will also upgrade to a 24V AC transformer to see if it helps. Can you confirm you never get false triggers on the 930 anymore? Thanks.
Normally I agree to this maxim too but there was an eBay coupon so I decided to use it towards an ELK-M1XRFEG.
Thanks for everyone's inputs. I can confirm it is indeed a drop-in replacement. All the wireless transmitters continue to work as usual.
If you want a perfectly working ELK-M1XRF2G...
from the release notes:
SUNSET NOTIFICATION: Firmware versions LATER THAN 5.3.0 do not support the legacy M1XRF2G RF (GE format) Receiver. The newer M1XRFEG RF (GE Format) Receiver is still supported. We recommend you not update firmware if your M1 is equipped with a legacy M1XRF2G Receiver...
I have an Elk M1 Gold with Elk M1XEP. For GE wireless sensors I currently use an ELK-M1XRF2G. This precludes me from staying up to date with Elk panel firmware updates. The current firmware 5.3.10 supports the ELK-M1XRFEG but not the ELK-M1XRF2G.
Since the cost of the ELK-M1XRFEG is not too...
